Privacy Policy — Kimbap AI

Overview

Personal AI ("the App") is a personal productivity app for iOS developed by Kimbap AI, located in California, United States. This policy describes what data the App collects, how it is used, and your choices.

Data Collected

Data You Provide

Conversations and notes — text you type or dictate in chat threads and notes
Workout logs — exercises, sets, reps, weights, and session timestamps you record
App settings — your chosen AI providers, models, tone preferences, and other configuration

Data Generated Automatically

API usage — token counts per provider session (used for on-device cost estimates)
A stable device identifier — a UUID generated on first launch, stored in UserDefaults and iCloud Key-Value Storage, used solely to aggregate your own usage across devices

Data NOT Collected

The App does not collect your name, email address, or any account credentials.
The App does not use advertising identifiers or analytics SDKs.
The App does not track your location.

How Data Is Used

Third-Party Services

When you send a message or request an AI response, the text of that message is transmitted to the AI provider you have selected:

Anthropic — anthropic.com/privacy
OpenAI — openai.com/policies/privacy-policy
Perplexity AI — perplexity.ai/privacy

You supply your own API keys for these services. The App does not proxy requests through any server operated by the developer.

These third-party providers may collect data independently when you use their services through the App. The developer is not responsible for the privacy practices of these providers.

Data Storage

Local storage — conversations, notes, workout logs, and settings are stored on your device using standard iOS storage.
iCloud — if you are signed into iCloud, data is synced via iCloud Drive and iCloud Key-Value Storage under the container iCloud.com.kimbapai.personalai. This sync is governed by Apple's iCloud Terms of Service.
No developer-operated servers — the developer does not operate any backend servers, databases, or logging infrastructure. No data is sent to the developer.

Data Retention and Deletion

All data is stored on your device and/or your iCloud account.
You can delete all app data by deleting the app.
You can delete iCloud data from Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
API usage history is automatically pruned to the last 35 days.

We Do Not Sell Your Data

Kimbap AI does not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with third parties for monetary or other consideration. The only data transmitted to third parties is the content you actively send to AI providers at your direction.

Do Not Track

The App does not respond to "Do Not Track" (DNT) browser or device signals. The App does not track users across third-party websites or services.

California Residents

If you are a California resident, the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) entitles you to know how we respond to Do Not Track signals (see above) and whether third parties collect personal information through the App. As noted, third-party AI providers may collect data independently when you use their services through the App.

Although Kimbap AI does not meet the thresholds that trigger the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), we voluntarily provide the following disclosures:

User-generated content (conversations, notes, workout logs)
App configuration (settings and preferences)

Purpose: All data is used solely to operate the App and provide its features to you.

Your rights (voluntarily honored)

Access — you may request a summary of what data the App holds about you
Deletion — you may delete all data by deleting the App; see Data Retention above
Correction — you may edit or delete any content within the App at any time

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date above will be updated and we will make reasonable efforts to notify you. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
